In OW Voices, it is possible to organize Community participants into different groups using the Segmentation feature.
This tool allows you to classify participants according to specific characteristics, enabling certain groups to access only specific activities or content within the Community.
Important: The Segmentation feature is only available to users with Administrator access.

Example of Use
Imagine that your Community is composed of soft drink consumers and that some questions are directed only to people who consume diet or zero soft drinks.
In this case, you can create a specific segmentation for these participants, ensuring that only this group can view and respond to activities related to this topic.
Using Segmentation for Participant Data
Segmentation can also be used to organize important information about participants within the Community database.
For example, if you want to identify participants by gender or age group, this information can be created as segments. This way, it will be possible to organize and analyze the results based on these criteria.
Recommendation: Always create segmentations considering the objectives of your Community and the analyses that will be carried out. This helps ensure that the collected results meet the needs of the study.
Create Segmentation
To create segmentation in your Community, follow the steps below:
1. Access the Admin menu.

2. Click Community.

3. Select the Segmentation option.

In this area, you will be able to create new segments to organize participants.
You can create segments in two ways:
Adding multiple segments at once, separating them with the “;” symbol

Creating one segment at a time by entering the desired name and repeating the process

Manage Segmentations
After creating segments, you will be able to edit, deactivate, or delete any segmentation created.
To perform these actions, click on the three dots next to the segmentation status.

Important: At this stage, you are only creating the segments. Later, when creating or editing an activity, you will need to select which segments will be able to view and respond to the activity.
Segment Participants
Before inviting participants to the Community, it is important that all segments are already correctly created.
This ensures that participants can be classified into the appropriate segments during the invitation or registration process on the platform.
For more information, see the article about Adding Participants.
Inclusive Segmentation
Segmentations in OW Voices are not exclusive. This means that a participant can belong to more than one segment at the same time.
For example:
- Segment Women
- Segment Age: 18 to 25 years
If an activity is available to these two segments, it will be displayed to:
all women, regardless of age
all people aged 18 to 25, regardless of gender
When to Create a Specific Segment
If the objective is to target an activity to women between 18 and 25 years old, it will be necessary to create a specific segment for this group.
Example of a segment:
Women aged 18 to 25
In this way, only participants who belong exactly to this group will have access to activities directed to this audience.
